American Diabetes Calendar

Use the following calendar from the American Diabetes Association to plan your diabetes awareness activities. Click on each event for more details.
AUGUST Summer Camp for Kids with Diabetes
ADA's Diabetes Camps provide a special time for kids with diabetes—one of the best times of the summer, and one campers always remember. At Diabetes Camp, kids with diabetes are busy with activities, building friendships and most importantly, having fun, while being provided with the FINEST possible medical attention throughout their stay.
 SEPTEMBER Annual Endocrine Seminar
This annual event is open to all Physicians and Endocrinology Specialists in Connecticut and Western Mass. The event is intended to educate and inform local doctors, on the latest in diabetes care and research. Many of the topics are taken from the annual World Scientific Sessions that the ADA conducts in June of each year throughout the country.
OCTOBER Step Out Walk to Fight Diabetes is the premier fund-raising walk of the American Diabetes Association (ADA). All funds raised from Step Out are used in support of the Association’s mission: to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.  Locally, walks occur in New Canaan, Bristol, West Haven, Waterford, CT and Northampton, MA.
NOVEMBER 41st Annual Symposium on Diabetes for Health Care Professionals This one day symposium on diabetes is designed for clinical and home care setting health professionals.  After attending the symposium, participants will be able to discuss insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome, and pre-diabetes.  They will also be able to identify successful strategies for weight loss maintenance, and describe the applications of currently available continuous monitoring technology.
