Leo Club Program Fees

Organization Fee for A New Leo Club

Every Lions club that sponsors a Leo club pays a one-time organization fee of US$100. This fee covers the cost of sponsor materials, a Leo certificate of organization, an officer kit for the new Leo club, and 20 new member kits with lapel pins, membership cards, and certificates.

If there are more than 20 originating Leo club members, additional Leo new member kits are supplied at a fee of US$5 each.

In most cases, the Leo club organization fee may be either:

  •  paid at the time of applying for certification of a new Leo club;
  •  billed directly to the sponsoring Lions club by the international office.

The Lions club may pay this fee from their activity or their administrative account.

The Annual Leo Club Sponsor Levy

Each year, all Lions clubs that sponsor Leo clubs are assessed an annual levy of US$90 (or its currency equivalent). A levy is paid for each Leo club by the Lions club sponsor. The number of Leo club members does not affect the levy. It is a flat fee.

Leo clubs organized during the fiscal year will not be charged for the full levy. Instead, a prorated portion of the levy will be charged. Clubs that are officially certified in the months of:

  • July, August, or September will pay 3/4s of the annual levy or US$67.50
  • October, November, or December will pay _ the annual levy or US$45.
  • January, February, or March will pay 1/4 the annual levy or US$22.50.
  • April, May, or June will not pay a levy.

The official organization date of a Leo club is the day of its certification by the international office.

At the time of application for a new Leo club, payment of the levy may be:

  • mailed to the international office;
  • billed directly to the sponsoring Lions club's account.

Sponsor Lions clubs are responsible for payment of the Leo levy. The sponsor Lions club may pay the levy from its activity or its administrative account. However, some Leo clubs may decide to reimburse the sponsoring Lions club for the amount of the levy.

Leo Club New Member Entrance Fees

Sponsoring Lions clubs shall pay US$5 to Lions Clubs International for:

  • each original member of the proposed Leo club;
  • each new Leo club member thereafter.

The US$5 Leo club new member entrance fee covers the cost of international office administrative services, materials, and a Leo new member kit which includes a Leo lapel pin, a membership card, and a certificate suitable for framing.

Leo clubs may reimburse their sponsoring Lions club for Leo club entrance fees. Or, the sponsoring Lions club may decide to pay the Leo club entrance fees from its activity or its administrative account.
