     Dear Lions and Friends,

"The gift of sight is truly a miracle and one we sometimes don't appreciate until we are faced with losing it" is what Diane D. Bielski, President of the CLERF lead off her letter to all of us to help support the efforts of Yale to continue to develop the Three Centers of Excellence, which are Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration, Pediatric Eye Diseases. The CLERF has approved a $1,000,000 fund raising effort for seed money to expand the Pediatric Eye Diseases Center thru Lion and Lion club pledges over the next few years. You may be asking how can you help? Well let me explain some ways. First we have already raised thru donations and pledges $410,275.00.

There are a few programs in place for the clubs and individuals to donate to and be reconized and I will begin to post them here over the next few weeks. In the mean time please call me and let's schedule a visit so I can share with you some of the success stories here at Yale.

How can you help support these efforts? Let me list the ways for you.

You may want to visit one of the web sites for the Yale Eye Center I will include one for you here. Please take a few minutes and visit when you have a chance.

I also have a web site for UCONN Medical Center.

     The Annoucement is here!

The 25th anniversary of the CLERF' s Golf Outing is currently in the planning process.

One major change is that there will be multiple venues for golfers in each District. This will allow for more local participation in this great and important fund rasing event for CLERF.

    How will this impact you?

    How do you get involved?

How can this be a rewarding time for you and your clubs?

Where will the money raised go and for what purpose?

When will the Golf Outing take place?

These are some of the great questions that will be answered at the Mid-Winter conference CLERF seminar presentaion.

You don't want to miss this one!

Oh YEAH one more question, how does each club benefit financially from getting golfers and sponsors?

Well you know that answer, see you on February 6th 8:30 and 10:30. You might even want to reserve a seat or two. This could be sold out in advance!
